The AVIA Pacific Coast Triathlon, presented by Philadelphia Insurance Company and Aquahydrate has been honored by Competitor & Triathlete Magazines as one of the best races in the U.S.A. The race takes place in beautiful Crystal Cove State Park in Newport Beach, CA.
It has a reputation for a beautiful course along the Pacific Coast, with a 1/2 mile swim in El Morro Cove, a challenging 3 mile bike course of two loops (4 laps) along a closed section of picturesque Pacific Coast Highway, and a 3 mile run along the bluffs and beach in Crystal Cove State Park.
Orange County John Wayne Airport is only a few miles away with numerous hotels available for out-of-towners. The shopping, restaurants, beaches and sites are un-matched. Disneyland is only 20 minutes away.
Avia Shoes & clothing will provide high tech training shirts (retail value $38) to all competitors. Avia running shoes will go to the top 3 in each age group and relay teams.
The Philadelphia Insurance Company will again sponsor the PHLY Insurance Corporate Relay Challenge for CAF (Challenged Athletes Foundation). Proceeds will go to CAF.
Trader Joe's will supply the after race food and Aquahydrate will provide the best tasting water on the market.
On Saturday the Sports & Fitness Expo will take place at the race site with plenty of exhibitors. Athletes will also pick up their numbers, 18" x 24" commemorative Art Posters, and T-shirts.
