- Origin CAC shall issue compliance certification tags to growers operating under compliance agreements. In addition, origin CAC shall:
- Educate growers on proper use of compliance certification tags.
- Proper use of Green punched tags
- Proper use of Yellow punched tags.
- Enforce proper use of compliance certification tags.
- Work with destination CAC to jointly determine if shipments may be moved under pest mitigation protocols when other options are not available.
- As necessary, notify the destination CAC of bulk grape shipments to facilitate inspections at destination.
- Origin CAC shall monitor those vineyards, within an infested area, requesting to ship bulk grapes as "free-from" the GWSS in the following manner:
- CAC shall trap and visually survey vineyards for the GWSS prior to and during harvest.
- Traps shall be deployed at least two weeks prior to harvest around the perimeter of the vineyard.
- The amount of traps per vineyard shall be a minimum of one trap per 40 acres.
- Traps shall be inspected within 72 hours of shipping.
- Visual survey shall consist of inspecting approximately 10% of the vineyard acreage within 14 days of harvest.
- CAC shall keep complete trapping and visual survey records.
- During harvest, origin CAC shall monitor those vineyards, within the infested area, requesting to ship bulk grapes that have received a pre-harvest treatment to eliminate the GWSS.
- Origin CAC shall monitor cold treatment facilities, within their county, receiving bulk grapes for cold treatment to eliminate the GWSS and certify when treatment has been completed.
- Destination CAC shall monitor activities at receiving facilities in the following manner:
- Monitor trapping and detection programs at receiving facilities.
- Two traps minimum per facility.
- Monitor receiving facilities record keeping.
- Monitor receiving facilities training program.
- Collect compliance certification tags from receiving facilities.
- Monitor proper use of compliance certificates.
- Monitor cold treatment facilities, within their county, receiving bulk grapes for cold treatment to eliminate the GWSS and certify when treatment has been completed.
